TheDoubleDeuced • 1 year ago

That's what I thought, but I think the Asian, Oceanian, and European leaders know they can't beat the original AMAIMs. It would be in their best interest to get the Japanese (especially the AMAIM pilots) on their side to contain the growing NAC bloc.

LesK • 1 year ago

the 3 united against the NAC is pretty standard. but i still think the Asian, Euros, and Oceanian blocks are just trying to gather as many 'bad Japanese eggs' in one basket and SQUISH! let the NAC crush that basket without the 3 part block lifting a finger.

Esenpai • 1 year ago

I'm not so sure. Don't get me wrong, the NAC and Japanese resistance militias wiping each other out would solve a lot of their problems but the resistance is much easier to contain than a large technologically superior bloc like the NAC. For the time being, it's within their interests to have the resistance help them maintain the status quo. After the 3 blocs can, once again, compete with the NAC on level pegging, though, that's a whole other story.

ShycoWar • 1 year ago

It will never not feel weird to me that those who shamelessly invaded Japan using military force keep on branding the actual Japanese as "terrorists" for trying to win back their land in the same manner (because they just don't have any other choice).

Like, how arrogant do you have to be to forcefully take something from someone and then go "This is mine now, and if you don't like it, you're the one in the wrong"?

dandan alpha • 1 year ago

As arrogant as America🤷‍♂️

Kirito • 1 year ago

New Japan a country in a country

James • 1 year ago

China Taiwan worse cough cough

TheDoubleDeuced • 1 year ago

It's nothing new. Just look back in history and you'll see the global gang-up on China, Israel vs. Palestine, South African Apartheid, the Western European colonization of everything, and the Native American genocides.

I ASSUME EACH COUNTRY PEOPLE MIGHT BE PRO WAR AS LONG AS HUMAN RIGHTS ARE NOT VIOLATED WHICH IT ALREADY IS LIKE RUSSIA WITH UKRAINE OR THAT PEOPLE ARE AGAINST IT BUT THEY CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNLESS THEY PROTEST OD LIKE COLD WAR VIETNAM BUT REALLY AMERICA LOSS VIETNAM NOT PROTESTING BUT LOSSES IN BATTLES

LesK • 1 year ago

actually if you knew your Vietnamese military history about that war you'd know what really happened.

the world alliance led by the Americans and their armies etc. entirely utterly and completely destroyed the organized and uniform troops units and command structures of the N Vietnam communist military.

it was only after that total military victory that the situation became unstable and untenable in S.V. and N.V. without a stable structure the various leftovers of the NV forces turned to terrorist etc. tactics creating the cells and operations.

the Chinese couldn't support their NV operations anymore and the Soviets pulled all support to the Chinese that was supposedly secretly to be directed into NV. this was because the world alliance/Americans were constantly exposing those 'secret supply operations' by showing the world that Soviet arms armaments and etc. were being used by Chinese supply routes into NV weapons depots, vehicle introduction convoys, etc.

let's put it this way, the 'made in China' copies of the Soviet weapons etc. were crap. so before the revolution in Vietnam happened, the Soviets to quietly increase communism on their continent (Russia, China, SE Asia) gave China the 'originals' that had better production values and were more reliable to operate and maintain using parts etc. from the Soviets.

so when the Soviets pulled that support from China, the Chinese had to support NV on their own, with their own crappy copies, and the military strength in NV rapidly declined alongside the various victories by the international alliance/American military operations.

so. we won the 'war'... but didn't liberate the entire Vietnamese 'country' ... just the Southern Half. later on the Chinese pulled out all THEIR support of NV and the 'puppet communist state' in NV was overthrown and Vietnam reunited etc. in 1975... the year before i was born. :)

if you really want a central reason why the whole thing started? point a finger at France and their puppet regime in Vietnam pre and post WW2. VN was a colony of France and well... the frogs screwed up in cherry-picking the leaders in VN post WW2. if the French had allowed autonomy and politely blocked the Red Invasion of politics from China and the Soviets, Vietnam could have peacefully become an independent country on its merits. but instead the frogs force fed cash and influence to 'their people' in VN annnd of course the nationalistic and communist counter-culture grew in popularity annnd conflict arose revolution etc.

Robert • 1 year ago

You omit the fact that the US forces were only there to maintain South Vietnam and it’s government - there was no plan to expand the war to Hanoi up to the Chinese border. That unfortunately really hamstrung US forces.

LesK • 1 year ago

i think we kinda got a lil too close to WW3 back when MacArthur was days away from invading China during the Korean War. so it was probably in the back of Westmoorland's mind the whole time... 'let's not invade China this time either'. because if we went for Hanoi that's pretty much the next logical point afterwards, moving troops to the border.

Alexander D. Montblanc • 1 year ago

Almost entirely true, you just forgot that victorious powers of WW2 basically dismantled all the remaininng european colonial empires, supposedly to liberate them, in practice any idiot can see it was merely to gain the upper hand in those valuable trade routes. To the point where even their allies like France and the UK got fucked over and forced to dismantle their empires (and for what lol, most of Africa as is now would starve without the West pumping money into it, most of it is starving anyway because no one wants to actually develop it, only greedy warlords, and cowards who wouldn't even die for their own people and nations). Ridiculous situations like NATO refusing to activate article 5 for its own members, and shameful enough that fellow NATO members were funding terrorist groups against their own allies in Africa, mostly, but not only. The USSR and the USA, both making great speeches about crushing imperialism and liberating the poor oppressed africans, but for what? So Nestle can run slave labour cocoa plantations in West Africa, or corrupt leaders allow western mining corporations to use child labour as cobalt miners in the Congo Basin? Screw you all hypocrites, I dare any of you big mouthed losers to look how any european-ruled, african city looked like under colonial powers, and how they look like now. To explain why all this is so would require me to use unnapproved information sources, but lets just say that if you look at a map of average IQ it all becomes very clear. That aside, if you think I'm bullshitting just check the source, the US State Department itself: h t t p s : / / h i s t o r y . s t a t e . g o v / h i s t o r i c a l d o c u m e n t s

dra6o0n • 1 year ago

A country can only liberate itself, with or without support, it has to be done so from within, and grown from within.

LesK • 1 year ago

as i stated in my final paragraph edited in probably during/after you posted this reply. :)

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

America loss because they were all about human rights. U.S can't just massacre them. They weren't losing the war, they were at an impasse where they couldn't gain ground without committing war crimes so it was better to just take an L.

dra6o0n • 1 year ago

Winners or victors is only a perception, maintaining a status quo is most definitely more important.

LesK • 1 year ago

military operations against other formalized and uniformed military units is the legal way to go. once those opposing forces are eliminated is where the really REALLY complicated stuff starts.

Amou is prepared to kill in this war

LesK • 1 year ago

this is my problem with the 3 member block.

the 3 united against the NAC is pretty standard. but i still think the Asian, Euros, and Oceanian blocks are just trying to gather as many 'bad Japanese eggs' in one basket and SQUISH! let the NAC crush that basket without the 3 part block lifting a finger.

keeping operations in counter-military actions where no centralized 'location or government' exists is pretty standard strategic planning. without one 'central target' most organized and uniformed militaries have issues. now that NEW JAPAN exists, the 4 blocks in Japan can point their fingers at NEW JAPAN and go, 'you are the new bad guys! bang bang! you're dead.'

if the Asian, Euro, and Oceanian block fails aka 'NEW JAPAN' they lose a little cash, a little land, some military logistical and material support supplies... but what do they gain? some terrorists from their areas won't operate in their areas anymore. they'll be gathered in 'NEW JAPAN'; annd if the 3 part block just lets the NAC defeat NJ ... shrug... eventually the 3 part block will retake what they've lost in land and the NAC will have lost some materials and manpower and money in its efforts to defeat NJ.

"Here, come work with us where we can closely monitor you and your technology, send you to the battlefields we want you to fight, and use you as political bargaining chips with this other, militarily superior force that's kicking our collective arses."

"Don't worry, we'll totally give you some land afterwards. Once you take it from our enemy, first."

Y-yeah. Sounds... real good. >:|

Dean • 1 year ago

I liked the little touch during the signing ceremony at 12:50 where the Oceanian AMAIM's, the Bunyip Boomerangs, have seals/caps on their weapons- makes sense for safety purposes, but it's out of necessity because the other blocs' AMAIM's can simply unequip their handheld weapons, while the Boomerangs all have integrated weapons that need to be covered XD

0:25 Wasn't hard to guess this in the previous Ep. Yup, enemy of my enemy......
5:35 What I was thinking, can 'they' be trusted in other words.
11:22 Sounds simple enough, but the hard part is coming. To keep it.
19:26 Wow!!! Brad Watt has definitely changed since he acquired Ghost.
20:34 Well, call me Un American. I'm rooting for the other side to win. Bottom line, it's wrong what the NAC is doing!!!

Yeah, not feeling Amou going to this meeting. It screams trap, 6 ways to Sunday!!!

Otaku Noob • 1 year ago

As an international relations major, I can already see so many things that can go wrong with this.

I truly hope it all works out, but history has shown us that deals can be easily broken. Germany invading Poland in WW2, American colonizing the Philippines after the defeat of the Spanish and a lot more.

My advice, know the interests of your enemies, trust is unreliable but your enemies' interests are more reliable, that way you know the likelihood of betrayal or cooperation. Advanced game theory
